FIC President Yana Mikhailova promoted White Book results, visit to Brussels and main FIC expectations in an interview for Economist publication “World in 2020” published on December 12.

“Three main FIC expectations from the Government remain the same: to continue and accelerate the accession negotiations with the EU as a way to improve the business legislation and its implementation; to work on sustainable fiscal consolidation (structural reforms, in particular privatization and corporatization of state companies; and improvement of the law implementation in particular in the area of taxes (strengthening of Tax Administration)” with focus on reforms in 9 priority issues for FIC. Sixth FIC annual visit to Brussels was promoted, and Yana Mikhailova said that meetings were held with 8 directorates- general of the European Commission, as well as with the Ambassador of Serbia to the EU Ana Hrustanovic. “Our key message was that the positive trend in the implementation of reforms is evident, and that the key goal is to continue and speed up the membership negotiations as a way to also improve the business regulation and its implementation”, she said. Yana Mikhailova also presented the White Book results, citing the best performers, and outlining the improvement of the implementation rate by 7 percentage points in 2019.
