On January 11, FIC sent to the Agriculture Ministry members’ comments on the Draft Instruction/Guide on the application rules on stating the origin of the main food ingredient. In a letter to the Ministry, FIC outlined that the document is very well prepared and very useful for the companies dealing with the food production, especially having in mind a large number of examples making declarations easier. The instruction is drafted in question-answer form, and its purpose is to provide a common understanding of the adopted provisions and assist in the application of the rules. FIC members’ comments relate to the levels of geographic areas (where example is needed for one point) and to the indication of country of production.
