On December 15, FIC launched the initiative for digitalization of procedures and exchange with the Cadaster, in relation to the approval and realization of financial products. The letter sent to the NBS, Construction Minister, Office for IT and e-Government and Geodetic Authority outlines that the COVID-19 pandemic put focus on the use of digital technologies as they are needed in order to protect the health. Goal of the initiative is: the technological improvement of the inscription of rights on the real estate in the Cadaster and automatisation of exchange of data between the relevant participants; and changes of the regulatory framework in order to regulate the relations of participants in that process. The initiative addresses the processes of Cadaster, banks, public notaries and business entities. The letter that can be accessed here provides information on the actual situation in this domain, outlining the problems such as the need for physical presence in order to have documentation, shortcomings in the data on the inscription of mortgages, problems with keeping the cadasters up to date, long delays and risks for errors. Concrete recommendations were provided for enabling the valid data exchange between all the participants in the process of approval and realization of financial products. FIC also requested a joint virtual meeting with all the competent authorities and bodies.
