Belgrade, December 7th, 2011 – Costin Borc, General Manager of Lafarge BFC, was elected President of the Board of Directors of the Foreign Investors Council at the regular annual session of the Assembly held today.
Goran Pitić, President of the Board of Directors of Societe Generale Bank Serbia, will hold the post of FIC Vice President elected as a substitute to FIC President. Gabor Bekefi, CEO of Carlsberg South East Europe, will hold the post of FIC Vice President elected as spokesperson of the Association.
Other members of the Board of Directors include General Manager of British American Tobacco South East Europe Douglas Lafferty, Managing Director of Delhaize Serbia David Vander Schueren, Managing Director of FIAT Automobili Srbija Antonio Cesare Ferrara, President and General Manager of Henkel Serbia Georg Grassl, Managing Director of PepsiCo Western Balkans Vassilis Glinos and CEO of Telenor Kjell-Morten Johnsen.
Newly elected FIC President Costin Borc presented the team that will lead the Association in next two years and pointed out that FIC will continue to advocate for improvement of business environment, better implementation of laws, cutting the red tape and simplifying doing business conditions. New leadership will decisively promote implementation of FIC recommendations, given amongst other in the “White Book” publication, in order to improve doing business conditions and increase competitiveness of the Serbian market.
Assembly meeting was also an opportunity to review past activities and discuss plans for 2012. FIC Assembly adopted the Annual Report for 2011, presented by out-going FIC President Kjell-Morten Johnsen and FIC committee chairmen.
FIC members endorsed the proposals to amend FIC Statute and to modify membership fees, all with the goal to enable continuing expansion of Association’s activities.
