Belgrade Airport Achieves Historic Milestone: Two Consecutive Months Exceeding One Million Passengers

Belgrade, September 18, 2026

Belgrade Airport, part of the VINCI Airports network, proudly announces a new milestone, achieving record-breaking passenger numbers in August and two consecutive months with over one million passengers for the first time in its history.  These results underscore the airport’s exceptional growth and its strengthening position as a leading regional aviation hub.

In August, the airport served 1,078,299 passengers, marking a 7.4% growth compared to August of last year. The busiest day in August was the 14th, with 39,651 passengers and 357 flights successfully operated. This follows July’s equally impressive performance, solidifying a new era of passenger traffic in Belgrade.

“Achieving two consecutive months with over a million passengers is a testament to the hard work of our entire team, the strong partnerships with our airlines, and Belgrade’s growing appeal. This record-breaking momentum reinforces our commitment to continuous investment and enhancing the passenger experience as we continue to transform air travel from Belgrade”, said Chivoine Rem, Belgrade Airport CEO.

Key contributors to this outstanding success include the national carrier Air Serbia, alongside Wizz Air, Air Montenegro, and other esteemed international carriers. This collaborative effort has not only expanded the number of destinations available from Belgrade, which reached 118 this summer, but also significantly boosted the airport’s overall capacity and appeal.

Belgrade Airport remains dedicated to continuous improvements, focusing on modernizing terminal capacities, ensuring the highest standards of comfort and efficiency, and further strengthening its reputation as a leading regional aviation hub. This ongoing commitment is central to VINCI Airports’ vision for sustainable and passenger-centric development of Belgrade Airport as its part.
