Milena is a Partner in Karanović & Partners, as well as the Head of the Employment Practice Group. She advises on all aspects of employment and labour law, including the engagement and termination of employees and top management, salaries and employment benefits, relationships with trade unions and negotiations of collective bargaining agreements. Her work includes providing daily employment advice and drafting employment related documents, advising clients on labour issues arising out of privatisations, mergers and acquisitions, and representing clients in complex labour disputes, redundancy proceedings and outsourcing arrangements. She also assists clients employing foreign workers in Serbia with various matters, such as immigration issues, temporary residence and work permits.

Milena graduated from the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law. Prior to joining Karanović & Partners, she had worked at the Municipal Court in Subotica. She is a registered attorney at the Belgrade Bar Association. She represents Karanović & Partners in the Foreign Investors Council of Serbia where she held the position of Vice President of the HR Committee from April 2011 until March 2014. She is currently holding the position of the President of the HR Committee at FIC. She is also a dedicated member of the Ius Laboris, an international law firm network specialising in labour, employment and pensions law committed to highest standards of quality in providing legal services.

Milena’s client list features multinational companies, international organisations and diplomatic missions. She has advised some of the leading domestic and international companies doing business in Serbia from a variety of sectors such as retail, consumer goods, pharmaceutical, IT, TMT, etc.

Most recently, Milena was fully engaged with providing employment advice regarding COVID-19 pandemic measures introduced by the Serbian Government and the means of their implementation. She also held a very informative webinar on the topic of Measures to Support the Serbian Economy during the COVID-19 Outbreak with several attorneys from Karanović & Partners, where she covered the employment perspective.
