In a text for Svet Osiguranja published on April 26, Digital & E-Commerce Committee Vice President Marija Djindjic explained the importance of the NBS Decision on Video Identification and mentioned the meeting FIC organized with NBS where practical info on the Decision was shared.

She reminded that the possibility of two factor authentication of clients in the financial industry was introduced mid-2018 for the amounts up to the 600,000 RSD, but that the distance contracting wasn’t envisaged by the legislation. NBS tackled this problem by the Decision on identification on distance, she said. Djindjic also conveyed that FIC initiated a meeting with NBS on March 14, when the practical info on video identification was presented to the participants on the market including banks, leasing and insurance companies. The Decision is a true innovation on the market, she said. “However, the industry still has the task to monitor the clients’ experiences and, on that basis, to remain committed to proposing solutions for improvement of the existing models and legislation”, Marija Djindjic said.
