In a statement for Nova ekonomija web portal on May 7, Real-Estate Committee President Ivan Gazdic welcomed FIC achievement related to the Construction Law.

As he said, the recent changes of the Construction Law abolished the rule that the annotation of the dispute on the plot prevents issuing of the construction license. The disposition was scrapped at the initiative of FIC, he said. Ivan Gazdic explained that the investor would now bear the related risk. “The disposition was easy to abuse in practice for the purposes of the court procedures, very often without proper justification, in order to disturb or block the investor, as the project was to be stopped until the final judicial decision”, RE Committee President said.
