Serbian competitors won 46 medals at the fifth Mathematical Cup
Belgrade, June 30, 2017 - Students from Serbia won 46 medals at the Fifth Mathematical Grammar School Cup, an international competition in mathematics, physics and informatics, which was concluded yesterday with a ceremony to present the award.
Our students won 5 gold, 18 silver and 23 bronze medals, and for the best mathematician of this prestigious competition was declared Jovan Toromanović, a student of the 1st grade of the Mathematical Grammar School.
At the closing of the Cup, trophies for the most successful teams were handed by Irina Reljin, Assistant Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, Stevo Todorcevic, the best Serbian mathematician and the leading Serbian mathematician in the field of theory and analytical typology in the world, and Miroslava Nesic Bikic, manager of corporate communications of Piraeus Bank, who for the fifth year in a row financially and organically supports the Mathematical Grammar School Cup.
This year's competition gathered more than 160 competitors and 30 teams from 13 European countries. Our country represented six teams from Belgrade, Valjevo and Pancevo.
