Real Estate Committee: New Programme and Leadership
At the meeting on April 7, Real Estate Committee elected Ivan Gazdic, Senior Associate at Bojovic & Partners Law firm as Committee President and re-elected Ivan Petrovic, Senior Associate at Jankovic, Popovic, Mitic as Committee Vice President on a two year mandate.
We therefore use this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to both of them for accepting the roles of Real Estate Committee Chairmen, thus committing themselves for two years of investing significant energy and efforts to the Committee’s work. Members also agreed on the Committee Programme for the next two years.
Ivan Gazdic has been practicing law for more than six years, with focus on the real estate. With expertise also in corporate and commercial matters and energy and infrastructure, he counts numerous reputable large companies among clients, including some FIC members. Prior to joining Bojovic and Partners he was associate and a senior associate at BDK Legal and NKO Partner. Ivan Gazdic obtained degree at Law School at University of Belgrade and passed bar and attorney exam. He is active in FIC Legal Committee since 2013, and is also engaged in AmCham and member of Serbian Bar Association. At the electoral meeting, Ivan Gazdic underlined that he was engaged in FIC for 3 years in various regulatory activities and also in drafting the text for the White Book. As key proposals for FIC programme he outlined topics of Conversion Law and Mortgage act within the Civil Law Codification, and activity on the Law on lease of office space. He also suggested introducing the questionnaires or mini survey for the FIC members in order to obtain relevant info from the members. He was elected with seven out of 9 voting members.
Ivan Petrovic is a senior lawyer in Jankovic, Popovic & Mitic Law Office where he is engaged since 2005. His main field of practice is real estate and construction law with a focus on topics such as real estate securitization, agricultural land and agriculture cooperatives. His clients include both Serbian and international entities. Ivan Petrovic obtained degree at the Faculty of Law at Belgrade University in 2004. Presenting his nomination he outlined his engagement in FIC from 2009, and role of the Committee Vice President in the previous period which gave him relevant experience in the dialogue with the GoV and other stakeholders. He was elected unanimously.
