Djordje Popovic

Djordje PopovicĐorđe Popović is the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Telenor, managing the legal, regulatory, governmental affairs, communications (internal & external), privacy and CSR functions, and additionally supporting the growth of inter-connection and commercial part of the business. Prior to joining the top management of Telenor, he spent 15 years in corporate legal advisory and was a partner in international law firm, being in charge of infrastructure, energy, telecommunications and projects development.

During his career, Đorđe Popović successfully represented both equity and lenders as well as public sector, manufacturers and EPC contractors in some of the most prominent projects on the market. This resulted in his legal practice and him personally being widely recognized as the leading practice on the Serbian market. Equally, he has significantly contributed to the development of the Serbian legislation governing the infrastructure and related industry sectors, by means of his lead in the projects mandated by EU and EBRD to harmonize the country's legislation with the EU acquis.

Đorđe Popović obtained his master’s degree from the University of Bonn, Germany, and additional postgraduate Securities Law specialist degree from the University of Belgrade. He is a founder and member of a number of professional associations, part time lecturer at the University of Belgrade and regularly publishes articles on diverse legal and business topics.
