Telco Committee: New Leadership

Telecommunications Committee elected new leadership and agreed on two-year programme on November 20. Daniel Susnjar, Public, Regulatory and Privacy Director in Corporate Affairs Division in Telenor was elected as Committee President, while Neda Teslic, Senior Carrier Relations Expert at Vip mobile was elected as Vice President.

We therefore use this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to both Daniel and Neda for accepting the roles of Telecommunications Chairmen, thus committing themselves to two years of investing significant energy and efforts to the Committee work. The Committee also decided to exclude mention to the IT in its name as IT industry is not active, and its official name will after the confirmation from the BoD be Telecommunications Committee.

New Committee President said that he is back to Serbia after serving abroad, and is highly motivated to engage within FIC and achieve results. Support of members is crucial, as one person alone cannot make difference, he said. Daniel praised the excellent results by the Committee in previous period, and thanked in particular ex President Marko Jovic, who was present at the meeting. Daniel is a professional with substantial experience in the fields of Telecommunications, Financial Analyses, Company Valuation and Market Assessment, both in Serbia, Europe and Asia. He is the current position in Telenor since August this year, and has more than decade long career in Telenor Group at various managerial positions, including significant experience at the international market. Namely, he started his engagement in Telenor in Serbia, continued in Norway, and also served in Myanmar before coming back to Serbia. His previous engagements include Raiffeisen Investment, Privatization Agency of Serbia, and Denning Finance in Budapest. Daniel obtained BA in International Economics at Budapest University of Economic Sciences and Public Administration, followed by Master of Science in International Business and Economics at the same university. Daniel has undergone number of trainings, mostly in leadership and managerial skills, and has knowledge of Serbian, English and Hungarian languages.

Neda has over 20 years of professional experience, of which 10 years in the field of telecommunications. She is in Vip mobile for a decade, and is currently dealing with the regulation of the telecommunications market in Serbia and communication with relevant stakeholders, including authorities and business associations. Neda is also responsible for various inter-operator services such as interconnection and SMS Interworking and hubbing solutions, financial analytics regarding national/international traffic, as well as for market analysis issues. She has master degree in international economic relations from the Faculty of Economics at University of Belgrade.

Before the elections, meeting with the Telecommunications Ministry and Ratel was held, to present them main WB findings and discuss current situation in the sector (more info in separate text).
