National Giving Day

The National Giving Day, established on the initiative of the Serbian Philanthropy Forum, was marked on October 9 – the birthday of the great Serbian innovator and philanthropist Mihajlo Pupin. The aim of establishing the National Giving Day is to draw public attention to the importance of solidarity and philanthropy. This Year’s National Giving Day promotes a culture of giving and solidarity in the fields of science and education.

WHAT?

The National Giving Day, established on the initiative of Serbian Philanthropy Forum was marked on October 9 – the birthday of the great Serbian innovator and philanthropist Mihajlo Pupin. The aim of establishing the National Giving Day is to draw public attention to the importance of solidarity and philanthropy. Also, on this day, we will point out that responsible investment in strategic areas in our society is important for a better future for all citizens of Serbia. This Year’s National Giving Day promotes a culture of giving and solidarity in the fields of science and education.

Funds (4 million RSD) collected for Petnica will be used to purchase an innovative spectrometer, which easily and quickly identifies chemical substances and compounds in a sample and is used in biomedicine, geology, ecology, chemistry, archaeology, and the arts. The spectrometer will be used at Petnica to help young talented individuals to innovate and develop their potentials.

Companies can support the National Giving Day by payment to the dedicated bank account for donations of the Serbian Philanthropy Forum 340-11021022-90.

So far we have collected almost 3 million RSD; donators: Erste bank, Bosis Valjevo, GDI Solutions, Belgrade Marathon, Delta Foundation, Infostud, Hemofarm Foundation, Alma Quattro, Coca Cola, Lafarge, Vetroelektrane Balkana, UniCredit bank and many individuals.                        

WHY DONATE?

The aim of establishing the National Giving Day is to draw public attention to the importance of solidarity and philanthropy. Also, on this day, we will point out that responsible investment in strategic areas in our society is important for a better future for all citizens of Serbia. This Year’s National Giving Day promotes a culture of giving and solidarity in the fields of science and education.
