Trag foundation launches the competition for tenth VIRTUS Award for Philanthropy. VIRTUS Award is supported by the European union, Balkan Trust for Democracy, Rockefeller Brothers Fund, Charles Stewart Mott Foundation and US Agency for International Development (USAID).

Competition is open for all domestic and foreign companies, corporations, public and state enterprises, small and medium enterprises, media companies, corporate foundations and individuals. Deadline for applications is November 17th, 2016.  

VIRTUS award was established in 2007, as the first and the most relevant recognition for philanthropy in Serbia. The objective of this prestigious Award is to acknowledge and publicly name companies, enterprises and individuals that provided strategic and long-term support to community development, thus setting the best example for others to follow. Through VIRTUS Award, Trag foundation promotes and encourages the development of philanthropy in the country and aims to increase the participation of a larger number of companies, enterprises and individuals in initiatives and programs for public good in the future.

VIRTUS Awards consists of 4 categories related to corporate philanthropy and one category intended for individual philanthropists. Companies, enterprises and individuals can be nominated by all citizens, civil society organizations, media, PR and marketing agencies and companies/enterprises that implement their own corporate philanthropy programs.

VIRTUS Award for 2016 will be presented in five main categories:

  •   Main Award for Contribution at National Level
  •   Award for Contribution to the Local Community Where the Company Operates
  •   Award for Small and Medium-Size Enterprises
  •   Award for Long-Term Partnership Between Business and the Non-Profit Sector
  •   Award for Individual Contribution to Philanthropy

The deadline for nominations is Thursday, November 17th, 2016.

Award ceremony will be held in Belgrade, in the second part of January 2017. The award winners will be decided by an independend jury of prominent individuals and experts in the field of economy, civil society sector, media and marketing.

White Book

White Book
Published yearly since 2003, goal of the White Book is to enable removing unneeded barriers and make doing business in Serbia easier, thus enabling better inflow of investments. It is promoted every year in the fourth quarter at the prestigious high-level event.


Reality Check Conference is an important tool in achieving FIC goals: it is an event meant to remind the authorities about the recommendations from the latest White Book edition and check status of their implementation.
