Panel: Business Synergies and Connectivity between South East European Economies and Turkey

Ankara, Turkey 4 September 2015 16:00 – 17:30 Panel organized by the Regional Cooperation Council Secretariat (RCC) and Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB)

WHAT?

This panel will be the launch event for Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey’s (TEPAV) report on Analysis of Business Synergies and Connectivity between South Eastern European Economies and Turkey, co-funded by the Regional Cooperation Council and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey.

The panel will kick off with a presentation of the report’s findings in its three primary objectives:

  • Diagnostics of the structural transformation process SEE-6 economies is undergoing, with emphasis on future growth potential.
  • Identifying untapped or underutilized areas of business opportunities in SEE-6 economies.
  • Outlining of ideas and recommendations to policy makers, chambers and cluster managers on concrete joint action projects and targeted transformation efforts to be undertaken between SEE-6 and Turkey.

 

Participants:

 

South East Europe’s, Turkey’s, and global Government representatives, including chambers of commerce and investment promotion agencies, as well as representatives of business and investment community predominantly from Turkey but also from the international community, international organizations, financial organizations, etc.

WHY ATTEND?

This particular panel represents the launch event for Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey’s (TEPAV) report on Analysis of Business Synergies and Connectivity between South Eastern European Economies and Turkey, co-funded by the Regional Cooperation Council and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey. The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion in which executives of some of the largest investments in the region as well as key experts will discuss their takes on the current capabilities and future potential of the SEE-6 economies in integrating with global markets.

This, what is envisaged to be a dynamic discussion on cooperation prospects between the SEE Economies and Turkey, as well as interaction between the SEE economies and global markets in general, will be held under the umbrella of one of the major political and business events: G20/B20 Conference. Since 2010, the B20 has been the business community's primary platform for recommending policies to G20 leaders on issues that concern the global economic agenda. The six taskforces of the B20 have undertaken remarkable work and, after three meetings since February, have consolidated the recommendations for their policy papers. The B20 Conference will commence with an opening ceremony under the auspices of the President of Turkey, H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, on September 3rd, 2015. Furthermore, conference participants will receive an opportunity to interact with G20 finance ministers, employment ministers, central bank governors, and finance deputies - all of whom will be present for their official meetings in Ankara.
